COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 42-year-old woman waiting for a Red Line 'L' train at the Howard Street station was groped by a man who snuck up behind her, prosecutors said.

Filani Johnson, 27, walked up behind the woman as she was standing on the CTA platform Saturday afternoon, placed his open hand on her buttocks and reached around to touch her vagina, Assistant State's Attorney John Dillon said at a court hearing Monday.

The woman started yelling, and Johnson yelled back before he took off, Dillon said.

Johnson then threatened a CTA employee who tried to stop him, Dillon said.

Police caught up with Johnson in the 1500 block of West Howard Street about 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

He was charged with criminal sexual abuse and aggravated assault of a transit employee.

A Cook County judge on Monday set bail for Johnson at $200,000.
