HUMBOLDT PARK — Riot Fest organizers announced Tuesday that a Danzig concert planned for Friday at the Congress Theater will now be taking place on Sept. 13 as part of Riot Fest.

The Congress Theater remains closed due to building violations, and Riot Fest — which was promoting the Danzig 25th Anniversary Tour performance — said refunds would be issued to those who bought tickets for this Friday's concert.

The band fronted by former Misfits singer Glenn Danzig will instead perform on Friday, Sept. 13, the first night of the three-day Riot Fest in Humboldt Park.

"Originally slated for August 16th at Congress Theater, ongoing renovations caused the cancelation of the show," reads the Riot Fest website. "Rather than disappoint his Chicago and Midwestern fans, he’s slated to perform an extended set to celebrate his 25 years of writing, recording and touring; the performance will include a Misfits set (with Doyle Von Frankenstein) as well as songs from his acclaimed career performing as Danzig."

Ticket holders can get a refund at the "point of purchase," the website says, while tickets for Riot Fest can be purchased here.
