Man Critically Wounded in West Side Shooting

CHICAGO — A man was critically injured in a West Garfield Park shooting Tuesday, police said.

The 31-year-old man was hit in the abdomen about 5:45 p.m. in the 900 block of North Karlov Avenue and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

About the same time, a 53-year-old man was shot in the leg in Grand Boulevard, officials said.

The man was hit about 5:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said, citing preliminary information.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, fire officials said.
