GRANT PARK — If you're heading to Lollapalooza Friday, don't forget your umbrella — or your flower crown.
Fans of the "Video Games" songstress Lana Del Rey streamed into Grant Park Friday, rocking flower headbands, high-waisted shorts and long, flowing hair.
Emily Thayer, 21, and Ashley Thompson, 21, both of Atlanta, both rocked fringe crop tops and denim, saying their inspiration was "definitely all Lana Del Rey."
"I just like her style and how she carries herself," said Patrice Morgan, 23, of Ohio. "She's got that retro vibe, throwback look."
Morgan's friend Denyse Jeter, 25, agreed.
"I like how she's different," Jeter said. "I like how she just doesn't give an eff."
Del Rey, who has landed on the cover of "Vogue" several times, told the magazine that her status as a fashion icon was unexpected.
"I never expressed myself through fashion," Del Rey said. "I loved flowers in my hair, I loved guys who wore leather, but I didn’t get creative… From the age of about 7 I had really specific tastes that never changed. I loved wearing white, old fur and gold."
