CHICAGO — A man who was shot almost one week ago in North Lawndale died Thursday, officials said.
The man, identified Thursday by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as 23-year-old Andrew Turner, was shot in the face about 12:50 a.m. July 26 in the 3200 block of West Roosevelt Road and then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Turner, of the 1100 block of South Independence Boulevard, was pronounced dead at 9:34 a.m. Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office.
He had documented gang ties, police said.
