CHICAGO — The charred remains of a man's body were found Thursday in a Bridgeport house that caught fire nearly four months ago, officials said.

Police were called to the home in the 3200 block of South Aberdeen Street about 9:15 a.m. The fire department and a Bomb and Arson unit also responded, police said.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Flames erupted at the house in the early hours of April 10, and no residents were reported harmed, officials said at the time. One firefighter was taken to a hospital because he felt sick, officials said.

The burned man's identity and age were unknown Thursday. The case was being pursued as a death investigation, authorities said
