CHICAGO — Police are warning West Town residents of a recent spike in garage burglaries.

The burglars forcibly entered the garages and stole items from inside in four incidents, police said in a community alert.

The burglaries occurred sometime overnight July 16 in the 2100 block of West Ohio Street, sometime overnight July 18 in the 1900 block of West Race Avenue, during the afternoon or evening Saturday in the 2000 block of West Erie Street and during the day Monday in the 1700 block of West Superior Street, police said.
