LAKEVIEW — A new AMC crime drama about a cop's murder in Detroit will be shown for free at Music Box Theatre Monday, nearly two weeks before its official debut.
"Low Winter Sun," based on 2006 British mini-series, is written and produced by Chris Mundy, known for crime shows like "Criminal Minds" and "Cold Case." The show follows two detectives in Detroit who murder a corrupt cop.
The AMC show debuts on Aug. 11, but the one-hour pilot will screen in 20 theaters on Monday — including at 7 p.m. at the Music Box, 3733 N. Southport Ave. Tickets can be reserved on the website.
After the screening, Mundy and the cast will host a Q&A from Detroit that will be broadcast live at the Music Box, with questions submitted through the Twitter hashtag #LowWinterSun.
