Police Warn Residents of Spike in Gold Coast, Old Town Burglaries

CHICAGO — Police are warning Near North Side residents of a recent spike in burglaries.

The burglars entered residences on LaSalle Drive in the Gold Coast and Old Town through unlocked doors and windows to steal items, according to a community alert.

The burglaries occurred about 4:38 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of North LaSalle Drive, about 2:23 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of North LaSalle Drive and about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of North LaSalle Drive, police said.
