CHICAGO — A Portage Park man died after he was found in the water by Navy Pier Tuesday night, authorities said.
Police received a call about a man in the lake about 8:45 p.m., said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
The 84-year-old man, who lived in the 4300 block of North Menard Avenue, was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:27 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A Wednesday autopsy ruled the man's death a suicide.
