CTA Train near LaSalle and Van Buren Briefly Stopped after Power Outage

CHICAGO — A Loop 'L' train was stopped for about 10 minutes Wednesday due to a power outage, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

At about 6:50 p.m., the Chicago Fire Department said the eight-car train near LaSalle and Van Buren was being evacuated, reporting that power was lost.

About 7 p.m., the Fire Department tweeted the evacuation was on hold, CTA had restored power and service was running again.

At about 7:08 p.m., the CTA tweeted that "Brown, Green, Orange Pink, Purple Line trains are operating with major delays after earlier track switching problems at Wabash/Van Buren."

At about 8 p.m., the CTA tweeted that those trains were now operating with "residual delays".
