Woman, Child Hospitalized After Washington Heights Fire

CHICAGO — A woman and a boy were hurt after a fire broke out in a far South Side home Monday morning, the Fire Department said.

The blaze started in the 1300 block of West 100th Place sometime before 5:40 a.m., the Fire Department said. 

A 48-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were taken in good condition from the two-story home to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, according to the Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
