SOUTH AUSTIN — Police are looking for two people involved in an early-morning hit-and-run accident involving an ambulance.

Two paramedics were taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries after their ambulance was hit by a car about 4 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Laramie Avenue, said Officer Joshua Purkiss, a police spokesman.

Purkiss said a BMW driving eastbound on Jackson Boulevard struck the ambulance as it drove southbound on Laramie Avenue.

The two occupants of the BMW fled the scene, and the paramedics were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Purkiss said.
