CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man is dead after he was shot in his stomach Thursday night in West Lawn, police said.
Freddy Lara, of the 3600 block of West 64th Place, was shot in the same block shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman.
Lara was pronounced dead at 10:43 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. It is unclear where he was pronounced dead.
Lara is a documented gang member, Mirabelli said.
