SOUTH AUSTIN — Three people were hospitalized, including two police officers, after a car crash on the West Side early Thursday, police said.

The car accident happened about 3:20 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of West Polk Street and South Lavergne Avenue, said Officer Ron Gaines, citing preliminary information.

The two officers involved were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released, Gaines said.

The other person involved was taken to Stroger Hospital. Police did not have details on the person's condition.
