ANDERSONVILLE — This week marks a decade for the Back Lot Bash, an outdoor women's music and entertainment festival in Andersonville that offers North Siders yet another Pride Weekend event.

The Back Lot Bash website touts the festival as "one of the most highly anticipated and attended pride weekend events for lesbians in the country."

The event will officially kick off Thursday night when comedian Julie Holdman, Sandra Valls and Brandy Howard perform at Mayne Stage in Rogers Park. The event will be hosted by local comedian and actress Qwen La Roka.

The rest of the festival is slated in Andersonville Friday through Sunday at 5238 N. Clark St. Singer and songwriter Melissa Ferrick, band Dot Dot Dot and DJ duo Uh Huh Her are headliners expected to his the stage at the festival.

The event also features events for kids and families, including face painting, arts and crafts, performances from children's musician Laura Doherty and readings from "Speedy Shines," an award-winning children's book by author Gina Restivo.
