CHICAGO — Police said they're looking for a man who tried to rape a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint in West Lawn Monday morning.

The man forced the teen into an alley in the 6100 block of South Springfield Avenue at gunpoint, then tried to sexually assault her about 8 a.m., police said. It was unclear how she got away.

Police described the assailant as white with olive complexion, between 18 and 23 years old, 5-foot-6 and weighing 120 pounds. He was wearing a white baseball cap, white baggy shirt and black shorts, police said.

Police asked anyone with information to call detectives at 312-747-8380.
