CHICAGO — A man was shot in his foot on the West Side Thursday morning, cops said.
The man was found shot in the 4700 block of West Van Buren Street about 7:20 a.m., said Officer John Mirabelli, a Chicago Police Department spokesman, citing preliminary information.
The 22-year-old later told police he was actually shot in near 19th Street and Springfield Avenue, about 2.5 miles away from where he was found, cops said. It was unclear how the shooting occured, or why the man ended up in another location.
He went to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, police said. Police did not give more information about how the shooting happened.
