CHICAGO — Have a dad with adventurous tastes? Logan Square's Bang Bang Pie Shop suggests a special slice for Father's Day, and it's got whiskey, bacon and "smoke bomb salt" listed among the ingredients.

"It just seemed like the manliest thing I could come up with," said the pie's baker, Bang Bang Pie co-owner Megan Miller.

The pie shop tantalized Instagram followers this week when it posted a photo of a caramel-oozing slice with this description: "Our Father's Day Pie - Whiskey & Smoke Chocolate Pie. Choc, graham, whiskey caramel, smoke bomb salt, bourbon smoked black pepper meringue, bacon brittle! Taking Preorders Soon ..."

The social media reaction was swift and intense.

"Do you guys deliver overnight if I pay for dry ice and shipping? I am extremely serious," said one Instagram user, ariellabellamia, before adding, "Just. I mean. I can't."

Miller said she was inspired to concoct the recipe after bouncing ideas off her own dad, who has a love for the storied Old Overholt Whiskey, made with rye.

Then, she said, "things got a little out of hand when we thought of all the smoked things we could put into pie."

Miller acknowledged that the smoky-sweet dessert might be for those with more intrepid tastes, "but at the same time, what's not to love?"

"I love just taking simple things that people love and trying to put them together in a creative way," she said.

Customers can now preorder the dessert, which is available starting the Thursday before Father's Day at $5 per slice and $26 for a whole pie. Miller said she expected to offer the pie for a three-week run, so those clamoring for a piece should have more chances to stop by.

Mille said she's trying to think up a way to send a slice to her father, who lives in California. Of course, Miller told her dad all about the finished product.

"I think his exact words were, 'You go girl,'" she said.
