BRIDGEPORT — The team behind Bridgeport Coffee Co. will open another South Side location, this time at the Hyde Park Art Center.

The new outpost at 5020 S. Cornell Ave. is expected to open sometime later this year.

It will be the third Bridgeport Coffee location and, in its announcement, the company said patrons can expect the same quality and care that's made the original coffee shop at 3101 S. Morgan St. one of the city's best.

Earlier this year, coffee shop owner Mike Pilkington announced plans to open a store in the South Loop at the Roosevelt Collection, the mammoth 1.3 million-square-foot mixed-use development at Clark Street and Roosevelt Road.

The company, which imports and roasts "responsibly-traded" coffee beans, sells its coffee to more than 80 city and suburban outlets.

The company is taking applications for jobs at both of the new locations. For details on how to apply, see their official website.

The new location replaces the Istria Cafe, which closed abruptly back in January.
