CHICAGO — Extra police will be on the streets in two areas of the city this weekend in an attempt to snag drunken drivers.

Police said they will have extra patrols from Friday evening to early Sunday in the Humboldt Park/Logan Square area and in the Morgan Park Police District on the far Southwest Side.

Police said the added cops will target the area around North and Albany avenues on the North Side, but didn't specify which area of Morgan Park district they would be concentrating on.

Police said the increased police presence is part of an ongoing strategy to "saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving."

Police will also be on the lookout for speeders and people not wearing their seatbelts.
