CHICAGO — Edgewater's Metropolis Coffee Co. was named the city's "best brew" in a public vote on Facebook.
The contest, sponsored by German coffeemaker manufacturer Krups, pit Metropolis against four other neighborhood coffeeshops across the city.
It's the second time the Edgewater cafe, at 1039 W. Granville Ave., won the annual contest.
Metropolis fought off competition from Bridgeport Coffee House at 3101 S. Morgan St., West Town's Star Lounge Coffee Bar at 2521 W. Chicago Ave., Lakeview's Asado Coffee Co. at 1432 W. Irving Park Road. and Portage Park's Regulus Coffee House Company at 6032 W. Irving Park Road.
