CHICAGO — A fifth physician has been arrested in connection with a West Side hospital kickback scheme that led to the arrest of four doctors and two senior executives Tuesday.

Kenneth Nave, 50, was charged with illegally prescribing hydrocodone to a patient without a valid license to prescribe controlled substances at Sacred Heart Hospital, 3240 W. Franklin Blvd., according to the U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

Nave was arrested in Miami Friday after turning from an international trip. His license to practice medicine has been suspended, officials said.

Four physicians and the CEO and CFO of Sacred Heart were arrested Tuesday in an alleged Medicare and Medicaid kickback scheme.
