LAKEVIEW — Lakeview indie coffee shop Kickstand Espresso Bar will be rebranding to be Dollop Coffee and Tea, the owner announced Wednesday.

Dan Weiss owns two other locations of Dollop, one in Uptown and the other in Streeterville. Kickstand in Lakeview at 824 W. Belmont is the only coffee shop that owned a different name.

The shop's sign will officially switch Thursday.

"I know that our customers feel at home at all our locations, but I want that instant recognition and connection to Dollop for our customers in Lakeview," Weiss said in a statement.

Inside, the shop will largely be the same: It will still serve Metropolis coffee and pastries from Hoosier Mama Pie Company, Southport Grocery and Fritz Pastry

The coffee shop has been at the corner of Belmont and Clark since July 2010, started by local entrepreneur Phil Tadros, his digital agency Doejo, Weiss and other partners. Weiss later bought out other partners and built out Dollop cafes.
