WICKER PARK — Beer lovers can get 10 6-ounce brews for $35 during Cinco de Mayo weekend in a special deal sponsored by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce.
The Wicker Park Bucktown TAP beer festival from 1-5 p.m. May 4 at Dolphin, 2200 N. Ashland Ave., will spotlight beers from 19 area bars and restaurants that either brew their own beer or carry "truly awesome" beers on tap, a media release states.
Fest participants include craft breweries such as Pipeworks — which recently won a "best new brewery in the world" honor — Moonshine and Piece Pizzeria & Brewery, as well as bars known for having craft beers on tap such as Map Room, Blue Bird, SmallBar and many more.
The $35 ticket also entitles drinkers to a commemorative engraved tasting glass. Additional beer servings can be purchased as well.
Tickets bought online in advance are $35. At the door, tickets are $45.
Adam Burck, executive director of the chamber, said, "We are super excited. Twenty bars and restaurants is a great list. Plus, to wow the taste buds, some of the bars and restaurants will be serving food bites that are paired to their beers on tap."
According to Burck, Six Degrees Bar will offer a nacho bar, in keeping with the Cinco de Mayo weekend theme, while Feast will offer bacon-wrapped dates with chorizo and root vegetable chips with olive tapenade and warm blue cheese dip. Additionally, Rootstock is offering bacon toffee to pair with their beers.
