CHICAGO — Love "The Wire" and have $500 to spare?

You’re in luck.

Actress and activist Sonja Sohn, who fans of the hit HBO show will remember as Detective Kima Greggs, is set to headline a benefit in the Loop on May 16.

Hosted by the international education nonprofit Facing History and Ourselves, the 22nd Annual Chicago Benefit Dinner will support ongoing youth violence prevention programs.

The business-attire event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker Dr. A dinner program featuring Sohn begins at 6:30 p.m.

The longtime actress is the founder and CEO of reWIRED for Change, a Baltimore anti-crime program that targets at-risk youth. Most recently, Sohn has starred in ABC’s "Body of Proof" and USA’s "Burn Notice."

Tickets to the benefit are available for $500 per person, with tables starting at $5,000. For information, call 312-345-3232.
