CHICAGO — Three children were taken to a local hospital after a fire in the East Side neighborhood Monday night, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the fire in a home in the 10800 block of South Avenue F at 11:48 p.m. Monday, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A 9-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, the fire department said.

An adult and possibly more children were displaced, said officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
