CHICAGO — Cops chased a stolen semi-trailer through the West Side early Thursday morning before finally taking a man into custody, police said.

Officers were called to the scene where a trailer was stolen from the 4600 block of West Flournoy Street near the Eisenhower Expressway about 3:50 a.m., said officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Police then chased driver, estimated to be in his 40s, along the expressway in West Garfield Park, Sullivan said.

Sullivan said the driver crashed twice along the way on West Ogden Avenue but didn't stop until officers caught up to him a short time later in the 1200 block of South Avers Avenue in North Lawndale.

Cops took the man into custody after he tried to run away, Sullivan said. Charges are pending.
