CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in Auburn Gresham Thursday afternoon, police said.
The 33-year-old man was shot in the neck about 2:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 80th Street, said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman.
The man was dead on the scene, O'Brien said.
He was later identified as Dantario White, of the 8000 block of South Bishop Street. He was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The shooting was a possible drive-by, and no one was in custody as of 7 p.m. Thursday, police said.
No further details were immediately available.
