BOYSTOWN — "Wonder Woman" actress Lynda Carter will be swooping into Boystown this summer to perform at Market Days, according to the Northalsted Business Alliance.
The 61-year-old actress known for her starring role in the "Wonder Woman" television series has three albums to her name. In 2011, she debuted "Crazy Little Things," which featured jazz, blues and country covers of songs like "Let's Stay Together" and "Let the Good Times Roll."
Carter started her career as a singer before landing the iconic role of superhero Wonder Woman. She decided to start singing and touring again in 2007 with her album "At Last." The vocal LGBT rights advocate told OUT magazine at the time that she loved being back on the road and was considering a dance remix of some songs.
Market Days is an annual two-day street festival with music and food and arts vendors on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison. The event is run by the Northalsted Business Alliance, and this year's festival will run Aug. 10 and Aug. 11, with Carter performing on Sunday.
Wilson Phillips, famous for '90s song "Hold On," also will perform at the festival.
