Chicago Fire to Chicago Cops?

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the creators of NBC's "Chicago Fire" are working on developing a spin-off show focused on Chicago police.

The show could "start off as a planted spinoff with "Chicago Fire"'s first season finale," the site reported.

"Chicago Fire" films extensively in Chicago, with the city's film office estimating that each episode generates about $2 million in spending. The series was to have shot 24 episodes here for its freshman season. Logan Square, Bucktown and Little Italy have been popular filming locations.

Actor Jon Seda, who plays detective Antonio Dawson on "Chicago Fire," could be part of the new show's cast.

"It's still being sorted out which "Chicago Fire" actors may transfer to the spinoff series," Deadline Hollywood reporter Nellie Andreeva wrote.

"Chicago Fire," starring Taylor Kinney and Eamonn Walker, follows the adventures of firemen working in a Chicago firehouse.

The executive producer of "Chicago Fire" is Dick Wolf, the force behind the "Law & Order" series of shows.
