Police Warn River North Businesses About Burglaries

CHICAGO — Police are warning Near North Side businesses about a series of break-ins that happened in multistory buildings early Sunday morning.

Businesses were burglarized in the 700 block of North Franklin Street between around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, while others in the 300 block of West Superior Street were broken into between midnight and 11 a.m., police said in an alert.

Front door glass panels were removed, and cash and checks were taken from the River North businesses, police said. The burglaries happened when the businesses were closed and no one was inside, police said.

Police did not have descriptions of any of the burglars.
