OLD TOWN — A man is in custody after he stabbed another man Monday night at the North/Clybourn Red Line station, authorities said.

A 35-year-old man was attacked at 8:10 p.m. on the North/Clybourn station platform in the 1500 block of North Clybourn Avenue, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

The man was stabbed in the chest and upper left leg, police said. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was treated for "minor" stab wounds, Alfaro said. His condition is stable.

Tuesday morning, police said a 33-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the stabbing, and charges are pending.

Authorities did not have information about what prompted the attack but said it was not believed to be a robbery attempt.
