Former Loyola Student Missing Since December Found Safe, Police Say

CHICAGO — UPDATE: Police said Ankita Patel has been found safe. Police offered no further details.

Police issued a missing person alert that stated a 23-year-old Loyola University student was missing since December.

Ankita Patel, of the 4500 block of South Sawyer Avenue, hadn't been seen or heard from since Christmas Eve and hadn't attended classes, police said.

A Loyola spokeswoman said Patel had been a graduate student and has not been enrolled since 2011.

Patel, who is about 5-foot-3 and 110 pounds, has black hair and black eyes. Police describe her as Indian with a medium complexion.
