CHICAGO — A Brighton Park woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver as she was crossing the street Thursday night, police said.
Ida Quintanilla, 58, of the 2600 block of West Montgomery Avenue, was walking along the 4500 block of South Archer Avenue about 8:40 p.m. when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV, said officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
Quintanilla was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The SUV fled the scene, and no one is in custody, Estrada said.
