STREETERVILLE — Good news for Streeterville yogis and Gold Coast CorePower fans tired of jam-packed classes: The company will open a third location Friday at 227 E. Ontario St.

Streeterville is a good addition to the current set of CorePower Yoga studios in the South Loop and Gold Coast because "over the past few years it has been a booming residential area" full of yoga lovers, said Jeni Hutchison, CorePower Yoga's regional Chicago manager.

The CorePower mission emphasizes accessibility, and as such they offer classes for skill levels from beginner to expert, according to the company's website.

Like most CorePower studios, the Streeterville location will feature two practice rooms and two locker rooms with showers. Each facility's goal is to ensure that "all the patrons really need to do is show up, and we can supply them with everything to take their yoga class," Hutchison said.

Tanya LoPresti will head the studio, leaving her post at the Uptown CorePower location.

Guests at the new Streeterville studio can expect "a variety of classes throughout the day, between 10 to 15 classes right out of the gate, with variety in the types including athletic-based yoga and power vinyasa," Hutchison said.

The site at Ontario and St. Clair streets also will be the first to have a self-serve purified water station to encourage patrons to bring reusable water bottles instead of plastic ones, Hutchison said.

To celebrate the opening, LoPresti will host a special lunch break class from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Free healthy snacks, chair massages and other treats will reward visitors who stop by the studio on opening day.
