CHICAGO LAWN — Police issued a community alert warning that a man tried to lure a 16-year-old girl into a car a week ago on the Southwest Side.
The girl was waiting for a bus in the 7100 block of South Sacramento Avenue about 6 a.m. in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood when a man drove up in a gray sedan, rolled down his window, and asked her to get into the car, according to the alert. He offered to buy her something, police said in the statement.
The teen got onto the bus and away from the suspect, police said.
The suspect is described in the alert as a clean-shaven black man in his 30's, wearing a baseball cap, clear glasses, and a black puffy jacket up to his neck.
His car was described by police as a four-door gray sedan.
