CHICAGO — An Englewood man died early Saturday after his car was knocked off a road and onto I-57 in Washington Heights.

Corey M. Owens, 31, of the 5900 block of South Sangamon Street, was driving a Dodge Stratus northbound on South Racine Avenue at about 1 a.m. when an unknown suspect driving a Land Rover pulled up alongside him and struck his vehicle, authorities said.

Owens' car veered off the road and down an embankment before coming to a stop on I-57, police said.

Owens was ejected from the car and died on the scene, police said.

The Land Rover's driver fled the scene on foot, police said.

There were no other passengers in either vehicle, according to police.
