Wilson Phillips to Headline Market Days

By Serena Dai | March 8, 2013 10:22am

BOYSTOWN — Hold on for one more day — so you can see '90s trio Wilson Phillips perform at Market Days this summer.

The group will be headlining the two-day street fair, said Northalsted Business Alliance executive director Jay Lyons, the group that runs the fair. The news was first reported by ChicagoPride.com.

Wilson Phillips took off in the '90s with the hit single "Hold On." But after their sophomore album "Shadows & Lights" tanked, Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips went splitsville, according to MTV.com.

They reunited about 10 years ago, and their 2012 album "Dedicated" largely features covers of songs such as "California Dreamin'" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice."

Market Days is an annual street fair on North Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison that attracts more than 100,000 people, according to the Northalsted Business Alliance. This year's event will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 11.

The rest of the lineup is to be determined, Lyons said.
