CHICAGO — A Washington Heights man died of cold exposure Monday, an autopsy showed.

Riccardo White, 56, collapsed in the 10600 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Roseland Monday and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

White, of the 1000 block of West 105th Street, was pronounced dead about 10 a.m. Monday, officials said.

A Tuesday autopsy ruled that White died from hypothermia, cold exposure and hardened arteries. Temperatures hit a low of 32 degrees Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

White's death was the fifth in Chicago due in part or solely to cold exposure since the start of 2013, according to autopsies from the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
