Firefighters Injured in Stairway Collapse While Battling Blaze

CHICAGO — Four firefighters were sent to a hospital after a stairway collapsed during a blaze at a Norwood Park home Thursday night.

They were battling a two-alarm fire shortly after 8:15 p.m. in a two-story home on the 5700 block of North Newark Avenue, according to the fire department.

The four were sent to Resurrection Hospital in good condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department Twitter feed.
