CHICAGO — A blaze in a Chatham home left a woman injured Wednesday morning, the Chicago Fire Department said.

The fire broke out in a home in the 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue about 11:15 a.m., fire department spokesman Will Knight said.

A woman was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in fair-to-serious condition, Knight said. It was unclear what her injuries were.

The fire was under control by about 11:45 a.m., Knight said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
