CHICAGO — A Portage Park man was killed and two others injured in a pair of shootings Friday night.

Manuel Hernandez, 21, of the 3900 block of North Central Avenue, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest in his apartment building hallway at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to authorities.

He was taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection hospital and pronounced dead there at 8:58 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Two other men were shot at about 11:30 p.m. on the 5200 block of South Fairfield Avenue in Gage Park, police said.

The victims, two males, were at a social gathering in the backyard of a residence when a dark colored SUV came north up the alley and fired several rounds, police said.

One victim, a 19-year-old, suffered gunshot wounds to the back and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The other victim, 20, was shot in the stomach and left arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, according to police.

No suspects are in custody in either shooting, police said.
