ROGERS PARK — Kimberly Bares, the long-time executive director of the Rogers Park Business Alliance, is leaving the organization to pursue fulltime consulting.

Bares has been with the alliance for 11 years and has overseen the creation of several special service areas in the neighborhood, including along Morse Avenue, Clark Street, Sheridan Road and Howard Street.

She is also the president of PLACE Consulting, a subsidiary of the alliance.

"We're going to sorely miss Kimberly," said Ald. Joe Moore (49th), who has worked with Bares since she joined the nonprofit. "She was a perfect fit for Rogers Park."

The alliance's managing director, Sandi Price, will take Bares' place as executive director.

The business alliance — which had about $500,000 in revenue in 2011, according to tax documents — manages special service areas and works to bring more business to Rogers Park.

A farewell party is planned for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at MorseL, 1406 W. Morse Ave.

Tickets are $25 each or $40 for two and the price complimentary appetizers.
