CHICAGO — Two men were in critical condition after being shot in South Shore Monday morning, authorities said.
The men were in the 2700 block of East 79th Street when they were shot about 10:55 a.m., police said.
A 21-year-old suffered shots to his shoulder and leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, cops said.
Police said an 18-year-old man was shot in the back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was also taken in serious-to-critical condition, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department said.
Further information was not immediately available.
The shooting comes after a violent weekend in Chicago left nine people dead.
