CHICAGO — Chicago police, working with the U.S. Marshals Service, located a 40-year-old man in at his home in Urbana and charged him with the July murder of a 21-year-old West Side man.
Quinn Holmes, of the 300 block of West Park Street in Urbana, was arrested in the murder of James Thompson, police said in a news release.
According to police, on July 2, 2012, Thompson was standing on a sidewalk in the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street when Holmes, while traveling in a black SUV, allegedly fired shots at the victim. Thompson was hit in the chest and later died.
Police said Holmes was taken into custody without incident Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
