CHICAGO — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Cook County, as well as parts of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.
The watch is in effect until midnight Monday, and warns residents to expect icy conditions. Freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet, is expected to develop late Sunday morning and continue into the evening. Ice accumulation of as much as a quarter inch is possible.
The watch warns of icy roads and sidewalks, and heavy power lines and tree limbs.
