CHICAGO — Just days after the CTA fare hikes went into effect, Loop commuters faced lengthy delays on five 'L' lines Wednesday morning, the agency said.
The CTA issued alerts that stated "signal problems" were to blame for the headaches travelers experienced as they tried to ride the Brown, Green, Orange, Purple and Pink lines without much success.
Signal problems at the Wabash and Van Buren stop caused 'major' delays, the CTA alerted customers at about 7:30 a.m. The delays continued to affect customers as of about 9:15 a.m. Crews were working to repare service, the agency said.
