CHICAGO — An elderly woman suffered second- and third-degree burns in an Englewood fire Monday morning, fire officials said.
The 78-year-old woman was taken to St. Bernard Hospital following a fire in the 6200 block of South May Street before 11:30 a.m., the Chicago Fire Department's media office said.
The fire started in a kitchen on first floor of the building, officials said.
Officials did not immediately offer information about the cause of the fire, or if there are any other reported injuries.
