
CHICAGO — Police arrested a 32-year-old Uptown man as he attempted to flee on a bicycle after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.
Jason Gurneau, of the 1000 block of West Lawrence Avenue, was arrested at appromimately 1:40 Sunday morning after officers responded to call of a sexual assault in progress in the 4400 block of North Sheridan Road. Police found a 32-year-old woman who had been robbed, battered and sexually assaulted.
A witness identified Gurneau, who was attempting to flee the scene on a bike, police said. After a brief pursuit, he was apprehended and later charged with robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of resisting a police officer, according to a police statement.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in "stable" condition.
